Malvasia Passito, Vigna del Volta, La Stoppa 2022

La Stoppa is an ancient estate. Previously owned by Mr. Ageno, an Italian solicitor and visionary, who was one of the first Italians to date and plant French varietals on Italian soils. Acquired in 1973 by the Pantaleoni family who restored the vineyards and the cellars.

Amber-coloured with golden reflections. The nose is aromatic, clean and pleasing with extremely elegant notes of ripe apricot, candied fruit, caramel, dried fig, honey, almond and vanilla. The palate is sweet, soft and fresh, with a long finish of apricot and caramel.

Ideal wine for desserts and blue cheese.

Bottle size 500ml

Winemaking Manual harvested, grapes withered in the sun for about 15 days. Fermentation in oak barrels and stainless steel with indigenous yeast.  Matured for 10 months in French oak barrels and at least 2 years in bottle. Not filtred and no SO2 added.
