THE WINE

Barbera often shows its best young – fresh and fruity, but serious. Like a straight-A cheerleader. Very red in the fruit profile, purple flowers dried dark fruits (blueberry, strawberry, fresh black plum (ripe and perfectly tart), and light musk. Super easy drinking, but not simple! 

THE WINERY

In 2013, Gabriele took over the vineyard from his grandfather who had run the family winery (then Pautasso Vini) since the late 1800’s. Gabriele’s partner in the winery, Stefano Campaniello, has a long career of restaurant management and somming in the European market, giving the pair a traditional, but restaurant/food focused approach. They utilize green manure from the surrounding crops (legumes, wheat and mustard greens) to replenish the nutrients of the soil.
